Game Theory Optimal (GTO) poker means playing with a perfect, universal, unexploitable strategy – based on the inherent statistics of the game itself.
Since it's universal, it could be used from any position, against any type of opponents/tactics/counter-strategies – to assure that you at least break even in the distant long-run.
When played perfectly, poker is a break-even game (in the distant long-run, against equally-perfect competition), so GTO play is technically not intended to make you a profit; yet it is expected to be profitable – since few, if any, of your opponents will be consistently playing perfe

Ideally, 5CD poker should be played with …
* 6 friends/relatives on the table (5 makes for a sufficiently fun game, too – as long as you’re not drawing to 4-Straights or 4-Flushes while 5-handed);
* a medium ante in a low-limit game (such as a $1 ante and $5/$10 betting-rounds);
* at home (not at a casino with rakes – and colluding strangers! Nor within the modern craze of online/video/virtual depersonalization);
* a maximum 3-card draw allowed – even for a lone Ace (so as not to have
inspirational song - i heard on Buffy...
This rocking song is on the first-ever Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode; the actual band, itself, is playing it live in the background, as Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) tells Willow (Alyson Hannigan) her philosophy of life:
